Rules Resources
In June 2022, the Oregon Early Learning Council approved new rules that apply to licensed programs who provide learning and care services to only school-age children. These rules were intentionally designed for school-age-only programs to remove requirements that were duplicative or unnecessary in public school settings, and to create an easier path to licensure. The rules were written in clear, plain language and align with national best practices.
Many of Oregon’s school-age-only programs participated in the process to create this set of rules. Programs shared insight into the unique needs of school-age-only programs and provided crucial feedback to establish rules that support quality care. Thank you to all who participated and shared feedback!
