Dawn Woods Named Child Care Director at the Early Learning Division
Dawn Woods recently accepted a new role as the Early Learning Division’s new interim Child Care Director. Dawn’s strengths as an energetic, motivational, and supportive leader will continue to support the great work of the Child Care Team at the Early Learning Division (ELD). Dawn’s approach to child care is to meet child care providers and their programs where they are. She approaches her work with an eye on equity for every child and every provider.
While many may know Dawn for her work at the ELD, they may not know how she began her career journey in Early Learning. Dawn started her career in child care as an assistant preschool teacher and was a child care director for nine years. She also helped write education curriculum supporting children with special needs. She started with the State of Oregon in 2008.
As another way to welcome Dawn into her new role as the Interim Child Care Director, we wanted to allow Dawn a chance to share 5 things that you didn’t know about her – until now.
