Early Learning Council

The Early Learning Council is the governing body overseeing the Early Learning System. As part of the 40/40/20 education goal, and the Governor’s vision for a seamless education system from birth through college, the Early Learning Council guides efforts to streamline state programs, provides policy direction to meet early learning goals statewide, and provides oversight for services supporting children and families across Oregon.

The Council was created through SB 909 (2011), and further directed through HB 4165 (2012), currently with 18 members appointed by the Governor. The Council meets regularly throughout the year.

In your FAQ page, you state “The Council will release an OPTIONAL Community Readiness Assssment as part of the RFA process…” However, in 5.2.4 b of the RFA, you state, “Applicants must complete the Community self-readiness assessment.” Which is accurate?
